PRTC Weekly: 01/14/2018 2018 Memberships, PRTC Elite, and More

2018 Memberships

After much consideration, we have decided to change our membership structure to include dues. We believe this will help make PRTC a larger and more competitive club. Our goal is to become a group where everyone from local racing devotees, to Boston Marathon qualifiers, and Olympic hopefuls feel at home.

Implementing dues will help us continue our growth. We’ll be able to offer more benefits and hope to improve “buy-in” among members. This should result in increased participation at races and workouts.  As always, the best thing we offer at PRTC will continue to be our training groups.

In return for a $50 annual due members will receive:

  • 2018 USATF registration paid for and handled by PRTC ($30 value)

  • Discount at Philadelphia Runner (via new PRTC Member Cards)

  • Consideration for elite entry to Broad Street & Philadelphia Marathon Weekend races

  • Continued access to our private email lists

  • Discounts for local races and team rates at fitness centers as available

  • Inclusion on our website’s roster page

  • Additional support (race entries/social events) as possible

To secure 2018 membership: Send a $50 check made out to Philadelphia Runner Track Club to Kevin Brandon at 822 N. Pennock Street; Philadelphia, PA; 19130. For those that have already purchased USATF membership for 2018, $20 will suffice.

PRTC remains a non-profit and will continue to be managed by our all-volunteer board. Here’s to our next chapter!

Kevin Brandon – President

Justin Simard – Vice President

Kylie Pearse – Women’s Captain

Chris Mateer – Men’s Captain

Announcing “PRTC Elite”

In related news, we have formed “PRTC Elite” with assistance from Philadelphia Runner! This program will benefit the club by providing enhanced support to our top performers as we work to attract and retain elite local runners.

Generally speaking, members who are aiming to achieve milestones like qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials will be eligible. Track, trail, ultra, road, XC, and Masters accomplishments will also be considered.

Kylie and Chris will be reaching out shortly to those who have been identified for the program. Please direct questions to them as well as referrals!
