Race Results

Los Angeles, CA.: This week's race highlight comes to us from the West Coast. Katie Rodden placed 12th overall at the Sketcher's Performance Los Angeles Marathon! This was Katie's first marathon after qualifying for the Olympic Trials during her 2018 debut at Philly. She repeated her accomplishment of securing a qualifying time. Her 2:43:59 wasn't quite enough for a PR, but she was awfully close. Additionally, her 12th place finish in this competitive field allowed her to gain valuable experience as she continues to adapt to the 26.2 mile distance. Way to go, Katie!

Philadelphia, PA: PRTC was proud to have several members represent "Courtney's Crew" at this year's Get Your Rear in Gear. The race supports the Colon Cancer Coalition. The four mile course extends around the Please Touch Museum and surrounding area. Mike Vido and Margaret Vido both repeated as winner's of the race. They also each improved upon their 2018 performances.  Abby Cember joined the Vido's on their racing team as well. She recorded a 2nd place finish and 25:19 time. Donations to the charity (which advocates for increased awareness and screenings) can be made here. Nice job, team!

Philadelphia, PA: Paul Matuszak and Ben Nieto celebrated the imminent arrival of Major League Baseball's Opening Day by running the Phillies Charity 5k. Paul extended his dominance of this event by claiming the overall win. He ran a very respectable 15:11 at "no mercy pace". Paul has now won the race a truly remarkable seven times since 2012. It is also his fastest result on the course. The team awarded Paul tickets to a future game and a signed Louisville Slugger bat by Bryce Harper! Ben Nieto also walked away from South Philly with accolades. He placed 2nd overall with a 17:05 finish and age group win. This earned Ben a signed baseball. No word yet on which player will sign Ben's prize. We figure Harper is a fair guess though. With 13 years to go in Philly and $330 million dollars he may be able to find some time to provide a few additional autographs!

He crossed the finish line just 9 seconds before the second place finisher Brian Louis. All proceeds from the race benefited students at the school. Great work, Jeff!
